Career Pathways & Academies: JROTC

Welcome!

The mission of the Colonel Zadok Magruder High School AJROTC program is to motivate young people to be better citizens… AJROTC assists in the total development of high school students so that they can take their places as responsible citizens in our free society. Special emphasis is placed on teaching students personal responsibility, integrity, dependability, and maturity.  There is no military obligation of any kind during or after the AJROTC program.

How to Enroll

                Just like any other course, students register at the same time as other classes.

ARMY JROTC 4 A/B, 7950/7951

Program Requirements

To be eligible for enrollment and continuance as a member of the AJROTC Program, each member of the cadet corps must meet the following requirements:

 

  1. Be enrolled in and attending full time a regular course of instruction at a Montgomery County, Maryland high school. 
  2. Must be a 9th through 12th grade student. 
  3. Must maintain an acceptable standard of academic achievement and academic standing, which warrants at least normal progression and will merit a student’s graduation upon completion of all requirements.
  4. Must maintain an acceptable standard of conduct and be of good moral character. Student cadets must be honest and self-reliant and have a sense of personal and social responsibility in the performance of the program and other academic assignments; must exhibit self-discipline and respect for constituted authority through observance of laws, rules and regulations of the entire school as well as the AJROTC department. 
  5. Be physically fit to participate in the AJROTC program without compromise to student’s health or well-being.
